Stonehenge and Old Sarum and Salisbury

This weekend was Stonehenge and Salisbury. Stonehenge was cool, but the castle ruins at Old Sarum(which were already old when the Romans first came!) provide much more space to run around and pretend we were fighting off invaders. You can just make out the boys climbing one of the outer walls that Bridget is guarding. We ended up in Salisbury whose Cathedral has the tallest spire in all of England. They also keep 1 of the 4 remaining copies of the Magna Carta there. Nick and I discussed how back then people with neat handwriting got the cool jobs ! It looks like a type font it is so regular and small. As we wandered the town exploring other medieval streets, we came upon "the Endless Street", which the children claim is ALWAYS were we take them!!

  1. Ok, add a white beard and Matthew looks like the travelocity gnome in that first picture.

And I love the "endless street." The kids are SO right. They busted you!
